Now this is how I prepared for my French course in Belgium: studying Dutch in a summer course
Why? Belgium is a bilingual country: the north speaks Dutch (or Flemish as they call it), the south speaks French. Now I am a student in need of money and I do speak French and have my Malaysian certificate to prove it. So I am ready to give private tuition for children in the Dutch part!
Of course I need to speak Dutch: both for tutoring children as for following courses in the university: yeah, study French in a bilingual country in the not French part…
Sounds confusing but what I get is:
- earning extra money by teaching French to children
- attending "the best" university of Belgium
More about where and how to enroll in the Dutch Summer course in my next post!
