When you learn French in France right now, you must have seen the beautiful fireworks in Paris at new years eve.
But did you know that the French burn more than just fireworks?
Eh bien oui, the French burn cars at new years eve as well. Unfortunately, this could have been your car burned by God knows which French person that thought he had to help burning more French cars than last new years eve.
It seems that last year 259 French people got detained and 372 French vehicles got burned.
This year seems to be a record year as more than 280 French torch people were detained and 1,147 French vehicles were set on fire this new years night…
We strongly suggest you don’t take part in these kind of French cultural or social events when you plan to study French in France!
