If you want to learn French fast on your computer, make sure you have audio and video tapes available.
If you still need to buy French language software, then we recommend :
- online you can buy Rocket French: it has French audio with lot’s of helpful French drawings like I did in my own free French course at: French Step by Step Course
- offline you can buy Breakthrough French 1 from Stephanie Rybak. It’s ideal for French beginners that want to know just enough French to get by in France, ask for the basic necessities and understand the French.
Do make sure you get the audio material, as it contains fun games you can do at home.
There is also a Breakthrough French 2 and 3, which I don’t recommend, as they go into too much detail.
Why buy online French courses when my French Step by Step Course is free?
Because online French courses are easy to study from and refer to when you spend a lot of time behind your computer.
Also the CD of Breakthrough French is easily plugged into your computer to practice the audio.
How to learn French fast on your computer
Each time you come back to your computer (after you just woke up, after you had lunch…) spend at least 5 minutes on your French course!
If you are motivated, 5 minutes soon become 10!
If you are not so motivated: it’s better to learn French 5 minutes a day with a fresh mind, then only study half an hour once a week! Been there, done that the first time I had to study Japanese!
