Miss Nevada loses to Sale Pute!

Learning French swear words in France

Learning French in any respectable French course means you miss out on a few words that you strangely don’t stop hearing on French TV of streets in France. One of those French phrases are pute or he more common used less offensive putain.

Learn French in France how not to become sale pute

If you learn French in France, yo useem to be able to get away with something FRrench like “french kissing”, unlike when you learn from american media…

So don’t learn from Miss Nevada or the gossip media will instantly connotate you with "sale pute":

3 sales putes

Remember how once Madonna was French kissing Britney Spears, yet to no dishonour for neither of them. So seems Miss Nevada still needs to learn: French kissing only works between 2 celebrities. If not, then she has to learn it the hard way being stripped from her title So this time the media will teach you the French translation:

  • sale : dirty
  • pute : slut

Now if you are learning French in France and you hear the word "putain", it lost a lot of its original meaning and more or less can be translated in "Damn".

French sex-y kissing

For those still learning… leave the French kissing to celebrities or to the French: seems they can get away with it much easier. Otherwise you end up like Miss Nevada learning dirty French
phrases
without ever being asked to. You could say: at least she is learning French for free :-) Yet being stripped from your Miss title is a hard price to pay for learning 2 French new words…

Learn French or Spanish

learn french or spanishIf you ask yourself: should I learn French or Spanish as an extra language, then consider first the overall studying time you have available.

If your time is limited and you want to make fast progress, then study Spanish. Why?

  • because you will master the only few Spanish sounds much faster than the French sounds
  • because you will be able to read Spanish much faster than French (the French written language didn’t evolve for 400 years but the spoken language did, so you can imagine "what you see is no more what you hear!")
  • because the gender of most Spanish words is more or less logical if you see the word. In French this logic is completely hidden.

If your time is kind of unlimited, then both French and Spanish have there advantages: the French language is widely spoken in Europe and Africa, where the Spanish language is spoken in the whole south of the Americas.

If you both want to study French and Spanish: tackle the Spanish language first. The 2 languages are sister languages and you will have an advantage when it comes to knowing the gender of the French words when you already know the gender of the Spanish word.
