I can hear you thinking: why don’t you study French in France? Because I don’t want to be in interpreter, so I can make do with the French spoken in Belgium. The southern part of Belgium is just above France and the people there speak as good French as they do in France.
Yet I am studying French in the Flemish part of Belgium in the little student town Leuven. Why?
- because it’s only 20 km away from the French speaking border
- because on August 15, they have a great open door rockfestival in the center of Leuven called MarktRock
- because like this I have the opportunity to teach non French speaking people French (quite impossible to find people that don’t speak French 20km further in the French part!). And you do need a lot of student money as the Euro keeps on rising compared to the dollar
- because Leuven is a very cute cozy little town
- because Leuven is only a train ride away from London
- because I was obliged to learn Dutch, which means 1 extra language under my belt

Though I am in France on a short course studying French, I have been traveling quite a bit around the world during my breaks.
One of my favourite holiday destinations is USA and the reason why I love going there is that there is so much to do and see, and I love the diversity of the lifestyle and natural environment that I really cannot find anywhere else.
When planning for my holidays, I love using online travel guides as it saves me lots of time and hassle when making the necessary bookings may it be for tours, hotels or flights.
One of the best summer vacations I had was when I visited New York City with my parents. As we all love art, we thoroughly enjoyed our visit to the great Metropolitan museum of art. We spent 2 full days just visiting the museum alone and at the end of it, we told ourselves that we will be back for more in the future.
You can find lots of things to do in New York city and in the end; you may not even be able to see all of them in one visit.
We used an online travel guide called Trusted Tours & Attractions and they literally planned our entire trip for us. It was amazing.
This company can also plan your holidays to other cities in the US for eg. you can find things to do in Chicago or things to do in San Francisco on their website.

Trusted Tours & Attractions are currently having a promotion and if you sign up for their newsletter, you stand a chance of winning $150 Itunes.
